LOL! Actually getting done on Thursday. Don't know if the brake duct backing plates came in yet, so trying to hold off till the last day. Getting new rotors too. Stoptechs lasted over 5 years with many track days!

One seat in, one to go ... Fitting race seats into a car is a giant hassle. Recommendation: pay VAC to do it. Well worth their hourly rate.

Once you do one, the other isn't nearly as bad. The only thing that would slow you down is the possibility your hardware may not line up with the floor mounts, and if you're NOT using a slider which in that case it'll take a few tries to figure out the sweet spot.

I'll get some snacks as well.
What do you guys run at the track in terms of tunes? Do you have maps set up specifically for track days where you require more lower-end torque for a track with more turns etc? I'm thinking of using my meth for more cooling than power. I was thinking of turning my boost target down to 15.5 ish so it doesn't snap my neck on every turn when i hit the gas but rather use the meth to make as much power as a car running 17psi so that the turbo doesn't work as hard and keeping the oil temps in check. Just a thought but i'd want to hear what you guys have done? |

I now have the ETS 5" now and run Map 5 on my JB4. Works perfectly. I'll defer to turugara but I think you're going to run through a lot of meth on the track. I think you'll find power is not a limiting factor for you, even w/ stock tune.

Gotcha, I do have the ETS 5" IC as well and I dont think power would be a problem for me at all. Since I'm a 6AT and Xdrive i presume i would run hotter than most so i was thinking of maybe just run it as I do every day and kind of work it from there. Steve mentioned to me that i should run without a tune at first to learn the track and how my car handles, then once i get some more confidence / experience i would turn it up a bit.
I'm not sure if this is a good benchmark for how much meth we would use since i have the procede and steve has a jb4, but when i was at the 1/4 track i took a full tank ~1 Gal meth and did 13 passes. So maybe you can say my average times were 12.9 sec X 13 = 2.8 Min. till my low level light came on |
