Trade in 2010 for a 2011? How much damage?
Hi guys,
Let say if you just got your 2010 e92 and have less than 1k miles on it and you really like the 2011 and want to trade your 2010 for it. How much difference you think you would have to pay assuming you paid off your 2010? =].

You're gonna take a hit, a pretty good hit especially with the new models arriving.

The hit will be big!
Wait a little longer... they'll bring out new things for the LCI - they always do. And they'll iron out whatever problems may exist with some of the new equipment. It doesn't matter that your car is only under 1000 miles; what matters is that it's a used car now. Like someone said, the moment you signed the papers and drove her off the lot... If you really can't wait, maybe if you sell it privately... but not a lot of people can buy a car for that price with cash (well, besides people on this forum, lol). BMW's financing rates on remaining 2010s (if low, subsidized, etc.) may be more appealing to them.

do not do that ..BMW NA bought back my car in 2009 because the fuel pump problem. I took a great hit ..i believe the 2010 still have some minor problems but like any new coming car. 2011 singel twin scroll will more than likely to have some problem.just look at all the tech in the car. the more tech invovle the more chances it would go wrong with the car. Think about when 335i first came out..a lot of problem with N54. i believe still will have some issue with the new car. you never know

Pony Up
Given the fact that the 2011 LCI 335is is going to cost at least a 5K premium over a base 335i, that the model will be in high demand and if you order it will be at least two months, and that you are unlikely to find the same incentives as the 2010, it won't be cheap.
I'd say you're in for a 8K to 10K loss on the sale (the 2010 is now officially last year's model + major LCI changes) plus another 7K to 10K to step up to the 335is, which is really where the action is. If you're not going to go all the way, why bother? You've got a very nice ride in the garage. If you really want it, say at 15K to 20K, do it. It's only money.

I traded in my 2009 for a 2010. My car listed for 50k, I got it for 45k and the dealer offered me 36k. So after 7000 miles I would have taken a 9k hit, fortunatly I was able to get someone to takeover my lease and not take a hit. With 1000 miles I would guess maybe you would lose 4k-6k. Not worth it IMO.
