OBX-R Exhaust Installed
So, I decided to risk $250 and buy the OBX-R Exhaust "system".
WASTED $250 + $60 INSTALL = $310!!! took the guy 3 hours to install it!! looks ok, sounds a little louder than a stock muffler with the valve always open. performance, eh! feels a little better during take off. Anyways, not impressed at all. Contacted OBX-R, waiting for a reply. Might try to remove the resonator and see if it gets louder... Some pics: |

I didn't realize obx is still in business, let alone making parts for a bimmer! Go make some video clips for us to listen to...

Ah, they're in Hayward somewhere. Cut the resonator off!

What is interesting about this review is that
If this was a different brand exhaust like Magnaflow or something, people would be defending the marginal difference in sound. For 250$ he saved some weight and changed the sound, so its a small win

Getting the resonator removed. Will update in a few hours with the result and possibly a video...

Ok, so now that the resonator is off, it sounds ALOT better!
It's raining in LA tonight, so I'll try to record a video sometime tomorrow.

Honestly $250 for even a slight change in exhaust note/volume is not that bad. It looks better and, as previously stated by andrey_gta, it's probably a good bit lighter. $60 for install is a decent price too.

When I had my old car I always wanted to know how an ebay exhaust sounded like. Any exhausts in Asia are an arm and a leg, didn't want to pay double premium. Post video!

I knew that taking out the resonator would be required. Most BMW PE for e90 and e82 take them out. ( excpet 128i, go figure)

Winning lol
Curious to see the video. I'd love it if it sounds anything like the n52 BMW PE vids online
