Bmw PE For n54 335i

Hi,

I'm just curious to know how does the PE sounds like in real life for n54.I'm interested to get a PE. Just wondering also does it pop and crackle? I know my stock exhaust dont pop but some has mention that their pop?

Does anyone have one on their n54 that I can have a look at??

That's interesting that you state your oem exhaust doesn't pop & crackle. My exhaust pops and crackles (albeit softly) from deceleration in the lower gears and gets a loud pop from WOT deceleration from 2nd gear.

It definately isn't an aftermarket exhaust, I have been meaning to have a look to see if is a BMW PE next time I have the car jacked up!

Thats what I'm thinking too but even my friends car does not pop same car just different year 07 model mine is 08. So maybe u have after market?? I'm sure without jacking the car you should be able to see whether it is PE or not?

Btw I will take up your offer on the tyres soon. Sorry been meaning to reply the post just totally forgotten about it.

$1800 is too much at the moment for me to pay.... I was actually looking at the remus as someone is selling 1200 i think...but I think remus is abit rougher and more throaty whereis the PE i believe it's a sleeper it's awake when u want it to scream !! But like some say while driving with all windows up the stock exhaust can't really hear it unless you wind down the windows but apparently outside our stock is quite loud?

It definately isnt aftermarket I stuck my head under the car the day I bought it to check as the tips are larger then oem and of a different design.

The mufflers on my car have the 'rippled' pressed finish on them like the oem mufflers (and I have since found out the PE also look this way also) But you're right I dont have to jack it up to check

Rippled finish I was referring to on OEM:

BMW PE:

Also with the remus you need the m sport rear bar (it looks shit if you cut the normal bar) if you don't already have one that is!

No worries let me know when you're ready to buy your tyres (they didn't have 235/35 19's in stock when i bought mine)

Stock 335i exhaust do crackle and pop a bit but maybe you just can't hear it because it is too soft?

Either way, N54 PE is worth it dude. Out of the diesel and into a petrol, surely you want the sound to go with it!

The ripples look the same to me?

Easiest way is to check for thos clamps joining the 2 mufflers together.

Yes they are similiar, but what I meant was the exhaust on my car isn't aftermarket its a BMW exhaust

I believe the PE exhaust also has a 'BMW PE plate' on it which is welded to the exhaust (unsure if its on top or on the bottom)
