I know it's the wrong thread, but has anyone tried something like this on a 328?

I'm trying to get my PE mod done here in the next week or two but I'm having trouble finding a shop willing to do the work. Two of them in my area have told me they wouldn't do it and how modifying mufflers can create rattles, then started talking about how it could hurt my resale value... "I dont plan to sell the car any time soon so shut up and weld my muffler" haha Anyone know any shops in the Seattle/Bellevue, WA area that have done this mod and how much did you have to pay? Thanks

Just wrapped this up - e90 stock dps, no packing replaced in outside chambers, inside chambers left alone. Sounds fantastic, no drone.

Btw if anyone around northern NJ wants this done, feel free to PM me.

Will this mod eliminate the exhaust rattle that is caused by the valve inside the exhaust? Also, I have no primary and secondary cats on my car, would this likely cause a drone?

No. Only way to stop the rattle is to remove it...this mod doesn't account for that; not that it can't be done separately though.

I'm definitely going to do this mod soon so I'd like to knock them both out at one time because my rattle it pretty bad and even with the golf tee mod and or JB4 valve open mod. Does anyone know how hard it is to eliminate the flapper? I'm guessing its just a straight pipe with the flapper inside so I'd cut that out and put in a regular pipe. Can anyone confirm this? Im new to this car so I haven't had enough time under the car to understand everything that's going on so I apologize in advance for beeing a noob.

I was going to get this done at your shop, but you guys wanted over $400 for it not including tax. Another muffler shop I spoke with wanted $300-350 for it, and someone said even that is too much! its only one muffler.

I ended up going with magnaflow muffler. deleted my secondary cats a couple months ago. it sounds great.

here are some clips.

the fly by videos sound much louder in person.

magna flow isn't for our cars.

ps. please don't make stupid videos like that blowing past stop signs.

Nice job coming to a conclusion based off a video I made

it obviously sounds different in person. the deep, smooth tone of the Magnaflow actually fits the exhaust note of a straight 6 quite well.

when driving normally, it basically sounds like a stock exhaust. but when you really step on it, its damn loud even with a stock muffler. this is why I love downpipes and would 100% get one if i had a turbo car.
