I went from an E46 with sport package to E90 without sport package. The E90 is considerably harsher in ride, largely due to the run flat tires; much more skittish when cornering on poor roads, too!

I'm starting to really love it guys!
It crossed my mind to sell and go with something more practical like a grand Cherokee .. Just thinking how I would hate to drive something so new in the snow and salts. Might have to garage it and use my accord when snow and salts hit the road But it's a great car and I am lucky I found something so brand new and certified under 10k miles ..unreal |

I went from an Acura to this one and from the moment I drove off the lot it's felt like a permamante dose of Viagra although no need to seek medical attention after four hours of driving.
I am just short of FBO and went to look at a used 2015 M3 yesterday. $62k, just can't do it. Considering lowering a tad and stiffening up the suspension...........my point is this car is not for everyone. |

BMW's are usually more towards the sporty side of luxury compared to Merc/Lesxus/Infinity. The E90 more so than the newer ones IMO. Sales guy at my dealer said the other luxury companies are killing bimmers because people cross shop and than wonder why the BMW rides so much rougher than others. :/

Agreed!

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

The e90's are probably the most sporty luxury car avalible. The suspension is a stiff for a daily drive compared to the softer C class Benz, but on the track or a twisty road the BMW shines. You can dial it down with some aftermarket suspension upgrades if you wish.
I also felt cramped in the e92, I don't know why either. I came from a 5th Gen Camaro before it. The e90 felt a lot roomier even though it's not much bigger. As for iDrive, it's a love/hate relationship. It's something you'll get use to & enjoy a bit then want to rip it out some days. As for the power....wait until you get the mod bug. The N54 is unreliable, has expensive parts, builds carbon & makes you consider swapping it for something, but when you get into the powerband, it makes you realize it's all worth it. |

I've come from a big background of Toyota/Lexus. Most comparable to my 335i are the two 5 speed IS300's I've had over the years. Love those cars; they're more sporty than the newer IS250's and IS350's, but I drove a guy's 6 speed sport e90 335i one night, and I was sold. I finally bought one, found it in Atlanta, and man, I'll just say that that was one of the best 3 hour drives I've been on in my life!

You just jumped out of a long relationship and into a new one. It is natural to have feelings of regret, guilt or even nostalgia for your previous love. And your rebound girl was just different but ultimately you were just going to break up with her anyway. Once you get to know your new girl more you'll feel more secure in your commitment. I felt the same thing when I left my last car behind, albeit for different reasons but now I wouldn't part with my new love for all the adaptive suspension settings in the world.

LOL I know how it feels. Its like eating soy all your life and then eating meat for the first time (which I've experienced too). For me it was an instant eye-opener when I drove a BMW for the first time. It was like "OMG this is what cars ought to feel like", and then there's no going back. That was an E92 335i. After that you are hooked. No other car matches that feel.
After that even a Tesla test-drive left me wowed in theory, but didn't match that unique "BMW feel". I don't know about Porsches (never driven one yet) but other brands like Audi/Mercedes/Infiniti/Acura/Lexus don't have that unique feel. Yeah I have driven many faster cars and luxurious cars after that (Mustangs and Benzes come to mind) but they don't have that something-something a bimmer has.

Coming from a R33 skyline, the only negatives I felt (initially) was the heavy steering, to the point of wondering if the power steering system was broken on my car... Lol
Compared to my old car, interior space I'd massive. Lol |
