It's probably early still to say autotrader isn't working (just 7 days now), but I'll follow everyone's directions and get more exposure. Thanks.
Looks good, good luck.

Post on craigslist as well it is free!

I've never been successful selling a car through the Autotrader. I've always sold my cars quickly through the classifieds. I think it comes down to fact that most people are too cheap to buy an Autotrader, but a newspaper is practically free and you'll find one whereever you go (ie in the waiting room of an office or a barber shop).

All of the above suggestions are right on. However, if you are trying to sell a really high mileage car that cleans up real nice, I suggest listing it on eBay. I see cars that look really good in pictures sell for way more than they are worth on there, especially the ones with 100k+ miles on them.

Hey Ya'll!! Out here in the Southeast I've never heard of Craigslist. Is that a nationwide publication?

I'm curious to know why you wrote "no tax!" in your listing? Are you going to pay the sales tax for when the buyer titles the car? Interesting....

Find a busy shopping/eating area with outdoor parking. Get a spot with good visability from a busy road or from the most popular place in the shopping area. Place a sign in the window and leave the car there (may have to move it each night). It helps to pick an area that would have your targeted buyer. If you were selling a BMW I would go to an upscale shopping area. This only works if you have a quality vehicle that looks nice. If you are trying to get top dollar for a piece of junk you will have a hard time ever selling it.
I agree...I did this with my e46 and sold it in 2 days

Wow...great tips. Just listed my car on vortex (didn't even know that was an audi site as well!). The 330 came in early, so I need to start getting serious about selling. Next stop, craiglist. If anyone knows anybody that needs a wagon...

I agree with everyone who said craigslist. I posted an old Honda beater up there last month and within 48 hours, about 10 emails and 10 phone calls.

Pics definitely help.

In Georgia, there's no sales tax when you purchase a used car via private party. However, a used car from a dealer's lot will cost you 7% sales tax in my county. That's $840 on a used $13,000 car! So "no tax" is a huge benefit.

I recently sold my Audi with Autotrader.com. I sold it within the first week it was up. I got about 15 calls.
Hope it picks up for you
