so are wear&tear items (like trim?) covered by 4yr/50K?

I did not think trim (seat bolsters, steering wheel coverings and kickpanels) would be covered. Anybody gotten these replaced?

I believe I've read threads over the past few years of posters getting all the above replaced.

Yea this is basically it its kind of dealer dependent. On my E46 the wood was cracked underneath the laquer on a few doors they replaced those for me. I had a friend have a side bolster replaced because it wore out prematurely. But then another friend who had a worn seat they wouldnt replace.

Other wear and tear are covered easily like brakes, wipers etc, but interior parts are questionable depending on what they are and how it happened.

dealer dependent

replacing most wear parts are at the discretion of the dealership.
My brother used to have a g35 and infiniti would replace everything without asking.
Eg scratch on center console, replaced the whole center with stereo.

Now he has a bmw 540 and the dealership in boston is the same, this scratch this worn item, it get replaced for free.

good luck.

Hay its Will from WheelSTO! I used to work at a BMW dealership and it was never a problem replacing any of those items! Shift knob, inside door handles, steering wheels, we at the dealership were always told its a defect in the part and to just replace it! However ever dealership is different!

If there is a defect in the workmanship, they will. Good luck trying to explain to them that it is not wear and tear though.
