Improving mpg??

I have a 2008 328 CV that has been getting horrible mileage since I bought it about 8 months ago. I just had it serviced and checked and was told nothing is wrong. However, it's been getting 16.8mpg on average (half highway, half city driving). Yes it is summer and we're using A/C, but even in winter it was around 19-20mpg on average. Any ideas on what could be causing this? According to specs, it should get 20 city/28 highway. Thanks!

That's pretty lousy MPG. I get 28 with mine, mostly highway. Obviously something is off. Unless you have the world's heaviest lead foot I'd try another shop.
