Increased performance of a 328i
Hey, I was wondering what should my friend do to his 328i to increase the HP of the I6. To me and my friend it seems that 230 horsepower isn't enough, so I was wondering what could be done to increase the power. Nothing extreme because my friend wants to keep his as a daily driver. And make it somewhat like my 335i. I personally have never done performance mods so I'm clueless in this category. Thanks in advance
P.S I have dig around the forum but to be honest couldn't find anything : |

Not much you can do. He'd have to spend serious money even to get a few ponies.

330i manifold and tune. But nothing will get it anywhere near the 335i.

This plus intake and exhaust. Other that there isn't much you can do.

Yup, flash+ performance exhaust+ performance intake+ 3 stage manifold would put a big smile on your face, but lighten up your wallet a lot.

Exhaust, intake, ECU map, etc. You'll get a few extra HP here and there, but it's kind of silly unless he just wants experience modding... Not money well spent. If he wants a 335, he should just trade up.

I told him about trading it in. I myself have been thinking of selling my 335i for an e46 M3 in a good condition. I always have been dreaming of owning one and it is my all time favorite BMW so do you think it's a good choice? |

I have a 328xi, and 230hp is plenty of power for this car, esp with a 6MT, but my advice would be a tune, air filter/cold air intake, and maybe exhaust. I plan on doing a tune eventually, but am very happy with the performance of my mostly stock 328xi. On mine, I cut out the charcoal second air filter in the factory box (Plenty posted on here about it), and keep it well maintained and in good tune.

If your friend isnt really into the tuner scene the 3stage + tune is all he really needs
