Really bad curb rash question (w/ pictures)
I picked up my E90 335i at about 19k miles and unfortunately whoever owned it before me was not very good when it came to parking because every wheel has curb rash and two of the wheels has some major curb rash. I honestly have no idea how they even did this much damage... I took pictures of the worst of it and my question is if this can be repaired (and how much it would cost) or if I could possibly do it myself. I've seen a guide for fixing curb rash but I'm thinking this damage might be too major for it to work but maybe I'm wrong. Not sure if it matters but these are on the E90 M-Sport rims. What would you guys do if you were in my situation?
Here are the pictures:

Repairable. Looks like more of some unfortunate potholes rather than parking. Look for wheel repair in your area. Check your local subforum as well. You're probably looking at around ~$100 a wheel.

Thanks, and yeah you are probably right about potholes, not sure why I didn't think about that before. I was going to guess $100/wheel which honestly I'd rather not spend right now, do you think I could repair this myself?

That's curb rash. I don't see how hitting a pothole can do that to a rim..

curb rash for sure... just leave it and realize its just going to happen again and again. unless you have a scratch on the face of the rim from idiots at a tire place like i do then dont worry. i havent even had mine fixed yet. Just leaving it for the time being.
Realized rims are a waste of money for the most part. |

I wouldn't repair it myself to be honest. If it's not going to kill you, just stick with those and either get it done in the future or get new wheels. I have curb rash on my 189s but I'm only going to use them in the winter so I don't care enough to spend the money.

here is an example company that has franchises around. Most are mobile and come to you. I bet you can find more if you search locally

I guess I'll leave it for now. One reason I was asking was because I was considering selling my current rims and buying these Alufelgen rims. I have no idea how much I should sell my M Sport wheels for though

Those are not too bad as damage go, any decent wheel refinishing shop will take care of that for you cheaper than replacing the wheels - I have the M-sport rims and they are more expensive to refinish as they are that hyper silver instead of just standard silver.
Expect to pay $150 - $200 for refinishing (and I think at the place I use, hypersilver is a $25 add on charge). These guys look handy to you also http://rimandwheelrepair.com/texas/a...rcos/index.htm

whoa thats unheard of, i thought only stretching tires will result in a curb rash Theres plenty of meat including the wheel guard and the curb still wins? this really makes me think.
