On other website they suggested:

For FRM2
Add +MUEG

For FRM3
+MUEH to VO

Can somebody confirm please?

So which is really correct?

I have searched again and again but nobody confirmed it.

One of our fellow member tried +MUEG on his FRM2 and according to him, it worked.

However on different forums +MUEB is mentioned as correct one.

I have coded car with FRM2 but I was in a rush + client gave me 10-15 minutes and I could not confirm these. I rather did manual way in 10 minutes and he was off.

I'll appreciate if somebody can confirm this on the FRM2 and FRM3.

E92 09/2009 Europe RHD with FRM3
f'ed around with kalt and warm to not_aktiv ....did not work - still had blinking brake lights when ignition on. Gave up and recoded NFRM with original .trc file (empty .man file)
...... Then ......
1. Added +MUH2 to the VO
2. FA_Write VO into CAS
3. FA_Write VO into NFRM
4. changed job to SG_CODING and recoded

Everything working perfect now ..... thanks to this tread.....

If you have FRM3, you do not even need coding.

Do you mean just add +MUH2 to the VO and nothing else?
Or you mean the FRM3 detects the LED lights and configures itself?
None appeared valid in my case !

I am surprised.
I have seem many cars with frm3 and all of them were already coded for LEDs.
May be its to do with local variant.
Here in UK, frm3 is already configured for LEDs.

Very interesting thread... especially when you are about to upgrade to LCI tail lights

I have a E92 325i from 7/2007.

Does that mean I have an FRM2 module? Or how can I check which module I have?

Provided I have the FRM2 module, is the easiest way for me to have all the hot/cold checks set to "nicht_activ"? Or is there another way I have to go around it?

Either way I will have some one else code it for me... I just need to know what to tell him.

You have FRM2 and you need to ask to coder to code it for LCI tail lights.

But can they be coded to function without "bypassing" the bulb alerts?

Or is that only possible with the FRM3 module?

In frm3 it still bypasses the cold and warm check.
There is third check which check if bulb is short. You do not code that in frm2 or 3.

Still trying to work this out.

I am trying to locate a guy who can help me with the coding. The one I am in contact with has coded several LCI tail light conversions - but all of them were in cars with FRM3.

Is the coding exactly the same in FRM2?

Just trying to avoid using several hours on driving back and forth AND paying for coding that might not work out. If the coding is the same, I am pretty sure it can be done. If not I might reconsider who I want to give it a go.

Makes sense?

Of course you can do this yourself. I highly recommend this cable/software package. http://www.ebay.com/itm/251189778558

The seller is extremely helpful and will remote into your pc to help you get things set up if you have problems. His software comes on discs with the cable and has a TON of stuff on them.

The text in the article says, that it works on BMW's from 1999 to 2007/3...

That excludes both my car and Hybridels... or...?

I am seriously not enjoying this. A "simple" tail light swap is turning into a major gongshow for me here. I ended up taking my car to a BMW specialty shop to spare myself some agony after I couldn't download the proper daten files from anywhere, and now they're telling me my info wont show up on their diagnostic tool at all when they try to connect.

Pain & agony over a simple mod, why God, WHY?!!!!! I guess I'm not cool enough to have this. Sweet man.
