To extend or not/European Delivery?
Hi guys, I'm planning on ordering an M3 within the next few months and have a few questions/concerns I would like answered. After configuring many cars on the BMW site, I'm left with 4 interior choices. Well, first let me start off with the car, and how I would order it. It will be a '09 E92 Jet Black coupe w/ carbon trim, cold weather, tech, premium, enhanced sound, 19s, and M-DCT. So its pretty loaded, that was the easy part... the dilemma is whether or not to get Black/Black Extended or Fox Red/Fox Red Extended. After looking at all the cars on this site with that combo I can't pick. Why is it so damn difficult! Lol! I would lean more towards Black but the pictures that show the black extended leather I can't see the details, that much.
I also wanted to know about European Delivery. I know the basics of the program; what I read from the BMW site. I'm asking, what are some questions and know-how things I should be asking or doing to get the right deal when ordering overseas? Maybe some insider tips? Or words of wisdom from people that have ordered from the ED program. From what I've read about ED asking anywhere from $500-$1000 over invoice isn't that far fetched, plus the options. I plan on going overseas and figured, why not get the car from Germany, and drive it to Macedonia where I would ultimately go anyways. Tour Europe with a few buddies and enjoy the car on some excellent Euro roads. I would appreciate it for anyone one to chime in and help! Thanks!

First paragraph: choose your own color - no one can help you here.
Second paragraph: ED is very straightforward. Just be sure you deal with a CA that has done it before. It's just a matter of putting in your order, having the money, and showing up on the right day at the right place to pick up the car. There have been slight issues with financing if your bank doesn't deal well with the redelivery delay when you car comes back to the states, but that's complicated and I don't want to get into it (and it doesn't matter if you're going with BMWFS). Good luck and have a good time! |

Also maybe pose your questions in the M3 forum not here as you may get better/more responses...

You should try and look at the different combos in person, then make your decision.I've seen every combo, but ultimately,it's up to you since you'll be sitting in the car and we won't unless you offer us a ride....I can answer every question you have about ED and save you a lot of time searching the various forums.
