Be warned that a lot of the DVD drives are pretty picky in terms of reading media, mine has trouble with the official disc. I'd recommend using the highest quality media you can get your hands on (I recommend Taiyo Yuden and Verbatim, Amazon is good to buy from) and burning at something like 4x using ImgBurn and doing a full verify.

I've burned the US East Coast image from the torrent onto higher-end Sony media (SONY-D21-00) at 4x and it seems to be working well in my iDrive unit which threw occasional disc errors with a clean original disc.

Hi Guys, hope someone on here can help me out. i just burned everything to a dvd and the drive in my 335 says please insert nav disk when i already put it in. Do I burn everything that i downloaded, or am I only supposed to burn select files? Any help is appreciated.

You have to burn the image. Download ImgBurn, open the .iso file you want (East or West) after the torrent finishes downloading, and click burn.

My car has the "business" navigation with the smaller screen (6.5"). Can that also be updated via DVD?

I downloaded the file, unzipped it and burned it with imgburn on a Sony DVD RW at x2 speed and my idrive will not recognize it. It keeps saying "please insert disk". What am I doing wrong?

These have been out for a while... Since October of 2010. Around October-November of this year the 2012 maps will come out, which contain data gathered during 2011. Your 2011 maps contain data gathered during 2010.

no, yours is hard drive based. Not sure if you can upload it yourself... someone else may know.

I'm having the same issue. It works, then it fails, and I get the "please insert disk." If anyone has any insight, please help! I'm going to try burning to different brand DVD-R disks and at slower speeds. Hopefully that works.

same issue here. i've burned it 4 times on different speeds and 2 different types of blank DVDs. still no luck. is there a trick to this one? i used the 2010 maps just fine... worked the first time.
