Only my kids sit in the back so I wouldn't know!

Thanks for the note though!

BTW, how many Subs are in the car?

Yup - mostly when on the highway it drives me nuts. Can't find a good fader balance -- sometimes even all the way to the rear doesn't seem to have a ton of effect. Not sure what's up with that.

I think there's 2, 1 under each front chair?

Has anybody heard an high-pitched noise coming from the speakers with the music muted? Or at very low levels?

Totally not impressed with this new sound system even though it is suppose to be better than the logic 7 in my previous 335.

I think I read a while back in the forums that this sound system was originally developed for the M5 and since then its trickled down to the 3 series.

Think so.

As stated above somewhere in this thread, to really enjoy the sound system (which isn't bad at all, but I can't tell really if it is better than the one I had in my 128i) you need to do two-three things :

1-Cancel the EQ on your source (Ipod/iphone/whatever)

2-Adjust the EQ in Idrive (there's a very good stickie in the audio section)

3-You need a very good quality mp3, it does a HUGE difference.

I'll have to try with a CD to see how it sounds, but with the Iphone now, I rarely use them nowadays...

I noticed a big differance between a CD versus 192k/256k MP3 file.

Ok I'M not crazy!

How's your fuel consumption with the cold?

Mine is simply horrible! I do mostly short runs in the city and most of the time the engine doesn't have the time to heat up...

I did a 350 km fuel tank....

Hi, new guy to the forum ... seems everybody is out playing and not holding their breath waiting for their ride to come in.

Same mileage here, running at 11.0l/100km over 7800 km according to the trip info - right where I hoped it would be. Mostly city but some hwy day-trips on the weekends.

One the thing that pisses me off is iDrive uses US Gal (at 3.75 L / Gal) to calculate MPG so displays 21 MPG but is actually getting over 25 MPG in imperial gallons. Just plain wrong for a Canada spec. car.

Pointed this out to the Service Mgr but he only rolled his eyes and filed it as a low priority issue. Then again, I was bitching about the soft/delayed tip-in throttle response so he had his back up a bit at the time.

Still, maybe if enough of us chime in we can get them to include this units conversion fix in the software update at the first service.

Did you set the units to UK, vice US? I don't have iDrive, but on the OBC I can set units for Metric, UK or US...no difference to statute miles, but it does properly report Imp MPG vice US MPG when so adjusted.

Regards
D.

Hey All,

I just went on a road trip to Chicago, IL from Toronto and I've gotta say this car is absolutely perfect. I honestly got 800KM to a tank of highway driving which to me is unreal.

Also, I saw an arctic grey 335 with the mtech kit, and stage 2 exhaust and we had some fun on I-94. It was great seeing a similar car from a different country!

My car now has 5500KM, and i swear it feels way more powerful after this roadtrip.

So far my only complaint about this car is the auto-dimming mirrors. Theyre dangerous!

800 km!!! What was your average speed?

I agree with you with the mirrors...well maybe if I didn't tint I would not be soooo dark.

Today I tried with DTC on (push the button once), and the car felt more responsive, more powerful in city driving...

I'm bouncing around 11.4 l/100kms.

I'd say 60/40 city vs freeway.

I admit I don't drive it like i'm a granny but I hardly get the opportunity to open up either.

The computer read 786Km to be exact, mustve gone higher at points im sure. The average speed is 59km/h, and avg fuel consumption (overall) is 10.6L/100KM

Im extremely happy with the fuel consumption!

Fuel consumption on this car is actually pretty good. I was expecting it to be higher than my previous e90 (n54 engine, rwd) since this car is awd but its actually better. i ordered jb4 stage 2 so i will report back after it is installed.

We should meet up, I'd love to see what the difference would be with the jb4 in our cars
