Who's going shopping on black friday?

does black friday only apply to retail stores? will things be cheaper online too?

i can finally get the digital camera i always wanted.

a few years back, i went to best buy early in the morning and waited in line to pick up a flat screen monitor that was really cheap. it was a total mad house. i wasn't quick enough, everybody had grabbed what was in stock. went home, went to bestbuy.com, and they had it. ordered it up plus there was free shipping. good deal and wish i had known about it earlier so i wouldn't have had to fight through the zoo.

this whole black-friday deal is wack!!!

I stood in line for 8 hours last year on black friday front of circuit city. Couple hundreds of people waited along with us. Kinda like the release of XBOX 360 and PS3. First 40 something people got special deals on laptops/monitors for really good deal. Nearly free from what I heard. Others had to rush into the store and grab whatever they can.

Definitely not going this year. I rather play.

i went once on black friday, in austin 2 years back i was at bestbuy. they had 20 dvd players. wasn't worth dealing with people pushing everyone around acting like zoo animals. I'll pay 10 more bucks for peace of mind.

i really think its b.s. I've found far better deals year round online. i go to fatwallet.com and pricegrabber and can find great stuff for good prices, not junk computers or dvd players for cheap or free (after crappy mail in rebates).

i'd probably go to Fry's, but knowing the Fry's geeks, they'll be out at 3a.m. or earlier, i can't compete with that.

My family did away with xmas gifts 3 years ago except for my nephews. We all pretty much have what we need and we all got sick of shopping, fighting crowds and spending money. Last year I did my shopping in 2 hours for my 3 nephews.

I can't even stand being near stores from 'black friday' until after the new year.
