I agree, until I saw them on my car. Also, the finish on the BBS is amazing, hard to take a picture of it.

Thanks man... I did and they seem to be just about as low as the H&R from what I gather.

335is issue

Hi guys,

So as some of you know, I just got my car 2 weeks ago (check bottom page 173) and iv had some issues with the car. Thankfully the car is CPO, so its covered, iv already blew my charge pipe and had that replaced (I'm not gunning it I SWEAR!) and ordered a ETS charge pipe which should be coming in soon.

Im still running into a start up issue. check link below. On a cold start, the car fires right up! no issue, nice and loud. However if iv been driving around town and I let the car sit for an hour or two and start it up, I come across a tough start. Any thoughts? High fuel pressure pump has already been replaced not too long ago according to the service record as well.

(Link in case video doesn't work)

The second thing I wanted to ask about is the GPS. I need to zoom in to the maximum zoom to be able to see street names (200m). Take a look, at 0.25M the GPS wont show any names (sometimes a RANDOM neighborhood street name) but won't show the main street names?

Lastly, I don't seem to have a volume bar anywhere. It causes me to have the music up too loud (from previous time i used radio). There is no bar indicating how high/low the volume is and iv looked EVERYWHERE, and reset all volume settings. Is this not a feature at all or am i don't something wrong?

Any help would be great. Taking it to dealer again Monday hopefully to get the start up looked at, AGAIN.

Doesn't mean that because you had the HPFP replace some time back that it couldn't be an issue again... I had mine replace a few weeks after I bought my car @ 14k miles and not even a week later and only a couple dozen miles later it went up again... Along with all new injectors, mind you this is a 14k mile car. I would never buy one of these without a CPO.

I had the same issue with trying to figure out where the hell the GPS volume was. I stumbled upon by accident. While the Nav is in operation and its spitting out where to turn, ect... use the volume button on the steering wheel and increase or decrease and it will set the GPS volume but only while it's talking to you. As soon as it stops talking it will go back to controlling the radio volume. Hope that helps and just take it in to the dealer for the starting issues, that's what the warranty is for. Might as well take advantage of while you have it!

Thanks for the feedback!
Ill have them check it, I suppose your right just bc its been replaced doesn't mean it can't go bad again shortly after.

As for the volume, Im referring to the radio volume even. I dont have a bar indicating how high/low volume is, in any situation. not in GPS, or radio. so every time i turn on the radio i quickly turn the knob all the way down in case it was up previously, and then i turn it up till the desired volume. I just wish there was an indicator of some kind.

Even though I have nav in the IS, I still use Waze on my iPhone. No car nav can come close to Waze period. I just use the IS screen for music.

I had an issue along the same lines, though not as bad. I originally noticed it at 20K miles. Fuel injectors and spark plugs were replaced under factory warranty. The SA told me that the injectors for that year(s) were problem laden. They were replaced with a different updated version.

I have never quite been able to figure out the street name case, although its never really bothered me.

As far as I know, no newer iDrives have a volume bar. Hope that helps

Very nice cars in here, I don't have a 335is, but I do love reading in this thread.

One question regarding the 335is, didn't all of them come with style 313 wheels? I saw some peoples cars posted that they just bought and their cars don't have the 313 wheels. Also when I was looking at some for sale I noticed a few didn't have them.

Yes, the 335is came standard with 18" 313s with the option to upgrade to 19" 313s. For many reasons, personal preferences, damage, racing wheels, some owners elect to upgrade their 313s to after market wheels. Popular after market wheels include BBS, HRE, 360 Forged, Volk, and many other really sharp looking wheels. Many of these wheels are forged and therefor lighter and stronger. I really like the look of the 19" 313s, but IMO, some of the ones mentioned above are even nicer.

Ahh okay, I didn't know it was available in 18"s. What about the wheels in this attached photo? I found it one page back when I was reading through. I've seen these wheels before on a 335is so that's why I ask if it came with anything else from the factory.

Still haven't had time to get some "real" pictures taken, but I did snap a few today after about 2 days of rain. Added some Cyba 3.8 brushed tips and a replica performance spoiler. Cobb AP and BMS DCI should be here tomorrow. I am absolutely loving this car so far.
