How do these components stack up?

There is some guy selling this component set for like $120, what do you guys reckon? Its not new, but seems tempting... Has anyone heard the 130 KR, are they as bright as the 100KRS? Not sure about using the Lanzar crossover, saying that I can get hold of a K2 crossovers for around $80.
  • Focal K2 13cm (5.25inch) component speaker set.
  • 4 Ohm impeadance. 70 Watts RMS power handling (140 watt peak), Frequency responce 70Hz - 20KHz. Composite cone (aramid foam & glass fiber).
  • Lanzar Optitw 1 inch Titanium Tweeter in aluminium housing. 4 Ohm impedance, 100 watts power handling (200 watt peak) Frequency response 1.2 KHz - 25 Khz.
  • Lanzar VBX2 2 way crossover unit 300 watt power handling, new & boxed.

Pavlo, the 130 KR are too deep, they won't fit!

Yeee I know... But I liked what this member did and if can make a spacer like he did it could fit....

But, I remember what you and VP wrote about the sound issue with going up to 5.25". And saying that, I wouldn't be able to utilize them for their low-mids because the H660 only does 200Hz. But still, maybe have them laying around at that price, and when I possibly upgrade to the MS-8 add them with a spacer... Hmmmm

I would just get a 4" and be done with it; plus you get better off axis response with the smaller driver. Just pick a mid bass that blends into the 4's range.

I just installed a set of Morel Hybrid Ovation II's into the front doors of my E91 Hifi system, and just doing that alone made a HUGE improvement to the sound, seems like a whole new system to me now.

Yee VP was saying about the off axis issue with them, just finding the SWS8s will need quite abit EQing to sound right, cause currently their mid bass is not to my liking.

I have a thing about mixing passive crossovers with drivers they weren't made for. Every driver has a slightly different impedence curve which varies based on the frequency of the input signal. The passive crossovers are designed specifically for the impedence curve of the driver they were made for. If you use a different driver with that crossover, its likely that the designed crossover point will actually shift due to the varied impedence curve. It might only be a little or it might be enough to make a difference but you'll never know until you try it out.
