2 quesions about service-

*who have any of you guys used for secondary cat delete?
*where have y'all had your intake valves cleaned? advancedbmwrepair quoted 400-600, but not via walnut shell blasting. momentum sw quoted $950 (!!!), but they're the only dealership i've found that can do it

I'll ask M-Power Houston for you. Very few shops will actually save you money like they will.

advancedbmwrepair wanted $100 or $150 just to look at my headlights which were throwing a code... that is no better if not worse than the dealership.

In my own opinion, it seems you have beef with me- not allowing the facebook request for the e90post group, and you seem to be in bed with M-power (which I have no issues with) regardless,

In my defense of what I offered you-

To hook up my autologic, run the short test, diagnose the issue, possibly swap the AHL modules, and check the power/ground/AHL signal from the FRM, how could one determine a "hey can you look at my headlights?" type of question and give a more detailed idea of what it possibly could cost initially, other than start with about 1-1.5 hours for diagnosis?

I completely disagree with what you are saying about me being more expensive than the dealership. First off, I worked at Advantage downtown for 10 years, was the top technician there, and along with multiple BMW N/A awards- so when I say, I can fix ANYTHING, I mean it. My labor rate is 100/hour, vs. 139.99/hour on a MATRIX grid (the more you buy- the more you pay), and will assure you; from the bottom of my heart- that any dealer in the Houston area would be wanting a MINIMUM of one hour check out, and if anything had to be diagnosed past doing a short test- you would be looking at 2-3 more hours of diagnosis *before* repair charge of parts and labor.

So, in short- If you (or anyone) would like me to look at your vehicle, I would be happy to, and bend over backwards to make it happen, including doing (some) mobile service. I am completely honest- will tell you how it is, and do not sugar coat the issues. In this world you can’t trust doctors, lawyers and mechanics. That being said, I only have my word and reputation in this world, and I defend them fiercely....... that I am truly the BEST technician for your vehicle, and completely honest with my repairs.

I honestly can’t tell you how many cars have come to see me in the last 2-3 months that got a "0" charge on many different issues, just because I cant justify charging someone. 20 maybe? 30? Try going to the dealership and having them TOUCH a car out of warranty for free. Ask around, I’m the real McCoy.

I must be able to diagnose issues, when I am being sub contracted from 10+ independant shops in the Houston and surrounding areas for me to fix their BMW issues they can't, right?

I must be charging less than others, when my wife and I get flown to Cancun, Mexico- including hotel/food/airfare/rental car, I'm STILL cheaper than the dealer to fix 4 BMW's down there, right?

I must know what I'm talking about, when I get flown around the country to host and teach BMW seminars on an almost monthly basis, right?

Sorry if I’m sounding defensive, or rude. I just want y’all to know how I stand. Ask me anything, I'll tell you the truth.

Don't take this the wrong way, but the quote you gave me simply wasn't the answer for me. I did not respond to your quote because I was no longer interested. The dealership checked my headlights for free, months out of warranty, and the tech came out to personally explain all the codes/diagnostics/potential resolutions. M-Power checked them for free as well, which took almost 2 hours of code reading, clearing, and moving my adaptive headlight motor in every direction over and over. There are scores of testimonials within our Houston based group for M-Power's work and fairness, it is only natural that we support each other. After resolving that the headlight needed to be opened to be repaired, Luis from OSS has me covered for free as well. This was nothing personal - I didn't want to pay for something when I didn't have to.

My post above was valid, given that your quote was $150 more than the free services that I got from the dealer. I've actually avoided Advantage Midtown as soon as I bought my car because every time I went, even under warranty, the $130 (or whatever it was) diagnostic fee was always shoved in my face.

Despite these things, none of it matters. The point is your quote was $100 or $150 and I got what I needed for less/free. I believe you when you say you're the shit when it comes to techs, but I didn't need a surgeon to put a band-aid on.

I've sent you a PM regarding FB.

Hopefully, there are no hard feelings as it's just business.

Who here has jb4 and wouuld like.to show me how to remove it.and reinstall it? Live in humble/Kingwood area. Can pay in 1800 tequila and patron.......seriously if u live far I can cover ur gas no problem, I just rather have someone who has done it before and very comfortable showing me how. Number is 832-527-4181.....call or text....plan on doing this in the afternoon around 4-6 but just let me know whenever ur available.

I've been told it only takes bout half hour, but I just got this car and learning where everything is and it would just comfort me doing it with someone who is familiar with doing this.

Thanks for any help or input .
