Mileage to Next Service Visit increases?
Seems to have been stuck at 1600 mi (for rear brake pads) for about 200 actual miles.
Recently went up to 1700 miles (still for rear pads) and have stayed there for 150 miles so far... I know it's not based on actual miles, but I didn't think the algorithm would increase the mileage.

That is to say, if at time A the data suggests you typically drive 300 miles per week and have spent the last 4 weeks making short trips with downhill runs, it predicts you have 1600 miles remaining before service would be necessary. However, over the next week, you do more highway driving. Then it calculates a weighted average of 3 weeks of short trip with 1 week of highway and remeasures the remaining miles, which have increased from the previous prediction, but still round to 1600. Rinse, repeat, until a full 4 weeks of highway driving are in effect and the remaining miles now rounds to 1700. This would also suggest it can work the other way as well. |
