Ahh bugger... have a small problem! - rear bumper

Evening all.

I have bought my self a second hand E90 M Sport rear bumper for my 2009 LCI 320d SE.

Was planning on taking it to get painted tomorrow, but after searching this site, Ive discovered a possible issue.

see this thread...

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...ci+rear+bumper

It looks like the bumper guides on the SE bumper are higher up than on the M Sport bumper.

Does this mean I will need to buy new bumper guides to fit the M Sport bumper onto my SE?

If so, how much are they each side? If I dont need them, then please tell me the solution!

Thanks in advance,

Andy

Real reply:

2 Guide for bumper, side, left 1 51127906505 $27.03
02 Guide for bumper, side, right 1 51127906506 $27.03

US prices less than 30 dollars each for these parts: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...29&hg=51&fg=15

So your looking at £30 uk prices from your friendly neighborhood stealership each I'd say.

Perhaps a necessary evil?

NB. Double check the part numbers with BMW. I wouldn't want to be responsible for anything

Cheers mate, was also thinking of a very big tin of EVO Stick!!!

I bought the bumper secondhand for £100. It will cost £140 to get painted, so Im not sure I want to spend anymore.
Might just bin the whole idea.

Anyone in the market for an E90 M sport rear bumper?????

If you've got the time to take the existing bumper off and line it all up, its definitely worth a test fit. Seriously, if you have to drill a hole in a mounting plate no one else will ever see, do you really care?

But thats how my attitude to these things lands me in trouble

Eye,

I know where your coming from - only concern is that its difficult to remove the rear bumper without damaging the slots at the bumper top edge.

Id hate to remove mine and damage it and then have to refit if the M sport one is no good!

My main concern is that there is a bit of plastic sticking out at 90degs on the inner side of the bumper which would fit on the sides of the car. (in the bumper guides). I cant see how to deal with these if the SE bumper guides are in a different place.
