Finally got my new car!

I finally got my first BMW this Friday! This car is a blast! The perfect balance of performance and luxury! I'm coming from a 2001 Camaro SS, so i'm used to lots of V8 torque, and the BMW twin turbo is great power and good miliage, gotta love it! I won't even get into how much better the handling is on the BMW.

I have already ordered a modified CDV to install, and I will probably also get the OEM short shifter knob. I'll start with that since I don't know if the whole short shift kit is worth it...

Also, my car is a March 08 build, and I checked and it does indeed have the v81 DME, so hopefully while I break it in Dinan will figure out this new ECU!

Later,
Ryan

+1 on the CDV mod ... totally worth it

Personally I find that the OEM short shifter knob is short enough. I don't really feel the need to install the short shifter kit.

+1. M shift knob and CDV delete is all that's required.

To the OP, are you in Rutherford?

I ordered Feb 19, and the car was already in production, so it was probably quite early March.

My wife mostly drives the BMW and we live near Southgate (although we're building further south, just off R.H. Road). Sparkyg is right, the address on the house helped.

OP - there still is no short-shift kit available for the Xi models. I have the UUC short-shift knob, it's a huge improvement over the stock shift knob. CDV delete going in next week, along with a couple of other goodies
