thanks for fielding the questions while I was out Ben. BTW as long as my clutch gets fixed (bringing the car in tomorrow) I'll be heading back down to the shop on Tuesday for them to finish up the final tune. We will know the final numbers (at least for an XI which should actually be a bit "conservative" compared to a RWD N52) and we'll also find out if the dealership can detect that I in fact am running a tune right now when they plug me in. FYI... Tony told me incase for some reason you end up at a dealership and the flash is lost by them updating the ECU or something he will send you out a Tuning computer to reflash it yourself (I think I might have said this somewhere already but just wanted to reiterate that the tune is good for the life of the car). |

it would be cool if they would just charge you w/e it costs to send the tuning comp to the customer and when they get it back they take it off the bill.

yeah seth thats what i was meaning. i wouldn't have the tune on tony can take it off or send you it.
i think what andrew at ems means is that a deposit for the tool can be sent to tony to use it and then refunded when the tool is returned to tony. I think that is their idea.

Tony takes a credit card number and if you don't return the tool, they charge the card. It is a $2,000 charge if you don't send it back, so I would suggest sending it back.

that makes sense... so he just keeps the card number on hand in case he needs to use it or puts a $2000 hold on your card while you have it?

I don't think he even puts the hold on the card, but not 100% sure on this.

surprised nobody caught me doing this:
I've been misquoting this whole time saying CS Tuning when only Tony is from CSTuning AND LET Motorsports... but the other guys (who I know I haven't mentioned) are LET Motorsports. here is their website http://www.letmotorsports.com/ or email tony@letmotorsports.com |

I never said anything about Renn-Art though...
Whatever. Mr.5 changed the thread title but I think he botched it. |

errrr...
Maybe I'm missing something... what's to stop someone from getting the computer then installing on multiple cars? is the ECU unique to your VIN...? Sending in my ECU would probably not work for me since I'm not going to do that (lol.) but just... watching out for abuse... |

correct. the computer will only have what map you are loading and will be specific to your VIN number

**UPDATE** I'll be in with Tony on Tuesday to finish up the tune... looks like my clutch was fine by the dealership standards. |
