It's just a light weight friction seal, any determined bug can get in. Here's what you need to know:

I had the same exact problem with a dead lady bug, just stick your fingers in the gap and pull it out, easy.

I had a dead bumble bee in there on my last car. I had no idea how it got in there because it was bigger than the space to enter
