only issue i have with this set up is it's a pain to back up the car into parking spots as you can't see the pillars rub against the side of your car LOL |

The C&D link did not really explain how to adjust those mirrors. The BMW tips I received in mail did, in a very user friendly way. Yes after the adjustment my driver side mirror was almost all the way out, but not entirely. Below is what in the BMW Tips: Quote:
Hopefully you can hear it |

Not on my e93 production of 09/2009. Mine was not even pre-wired for alarm as it should have been! BMW advised me subsequent US production models were as you have correctly stated.

The mirror heaters come on when you press the front windshield defroster. If you think I photoshopped it, take a look at the 2009 convertible brochure yourself: https://resource.bmwusa.com/pdf_f5fc...b32a99e41.arox . It's on page 28. And you also have auto-dimming mirrors since you have the Premium Package.

I felt a bit at ease knowing several of you are using this setting, so decided to try it again. While I have not had many chances to utilize it yet, I must admit it is not as bad as I thought.
Just a few initial observations. This mirror setting does not help much on the passenger side. My peripheral vision does not work on the far side mirror, still need to turn my head a little to look at the mirror before making lane change, which is not so different than turn and look at the passenger side blind spot. The driver side mirror setting should be a great help, no need to turn the head anymore. Unfortunately BMW does not have a 3rd driver memory setting to use for backing out the car. |
