help, does window tinting block the gps signal?

hi all, i'm waiting for my e90 to arrive and was thinking of what to do to the car. does anyone know if tinting the windows will interfere with the nav gps signal or the comfort access? i don't want to find out the hard way and the people at the dealership weren't very helpful. thanks.

Tint will not interfere with sat signals, as that antenna is outside the car, on the roof, and the comfort access antennas are not in the windows either.

Tint affects am/fm reception because the antenna is integrated in the rear window.

I have tint, and it has not affected any of my sat signals or my CA.

If in doubt go with ceramic tint like huper optic (better heat resistants too). Sat antenna is in the shark fin on the roof. i am no sure about comfort access but I think it is insude the car so can be potentially (shorter distance) effected by metalic tint ...

Metalic tint could interfere with the comfort access signal.

You are right. I did 40% HO (to be safe but I would not mind a little bit darker tint, so 30% would be perfect) and I did pay $400 -- so you are right on.

if you want to save money get carbon film by suntek. half the cost of ceramic but all the benefits.
