When taking logs of the fuel trim, do I do it like any other data logging (3-4th gear pull)? Last edited by WesleyC; 03-05-2013 at 08:20 PM.. |

I recently got in touch with PTF like everyone else has been doing, Jake and Dzenno are great guys, they provide superb service, they respond super fast. Its worth the extra $$ to have these guys tune your car. I have piece of mind and they squeeze more power from the e30 ots maps. |

The higher the ethanol mix you run the more it will make the pump work, which in turn, reduces the life of the pump. How much running a 30% mix takes off the life of the pump is unknown. Also, it's a good idea to run e10 gasoline through the tank every 3-4 fill ups to "clean" the fuel system of any ethanol deposits that may have formed.

To what I know and understand, ethanol readily absorbs water, thus the only thing that comes to my mind would be to run water remover to remove moisture(if any) in the fuel lines.
Most gas companies mandate use of a fuel filter inside the pump of gas dispensing unit. So if your fuel is coming out extra slow, it means the pump filters are probably clogged with either debris or water trapped from ethanol. Rule of thumb, if the gas pump you are using is acting slow-you are better of going somewhere else. It just could be an old filter causing slowdown , but I rather not take chance. Lately it's been chevron(locally) that's been getting consistent bad gas from past few months. Before that it was Esso. Shell (at least locally don't run any filters in pumps), so no knowing when I am getting bad gas.

Ethanol is actually used to absorb the water in the fuel and help to remove it. What I was referring to is that on other platforms running high concentrations of ethanol(normally e85) can lead to deposits building up on the injector nozzle. I doubt e30 will cause this, but it's not a bad idea to run a gas mix with as little ethanol as possible every once in a while to help clear this up.

It seems like every week the accesport updates when I plug it in to the comp. How often should I be re installing the flash to keep the car up to date?
I apologize if this has been discussed before. |

Uninstall to return to stock. Then just reinstall when you get it back. Just a few more minutes than switching maps.

This, but do it as soon as you can so that the car will hopefully complete the OBD2 rest cycle before the dealer gets it. They can't really say or do anything if the test isn't complete... but no need to bring any undue attention.

Most of the time the updates are there just to ad ROM support for different vehicles. You can read on Cobb's site what the update does in the update history

Regarding this matter you know where in the Cobb site the history of every revision is located, including beta?

Awesome, thanks.
Yea, I see the update log with the ROM support info but seems like the firmware is being updated reguraly. Wasnt sure if this changing anything with the map data or just with the handheld device. The update log shows the last update was early January but the device updates very frequently. Maybe Im looking at the wrong update log |

I think it's in the AP manager and I think there's a link to the map release notes on the map download page.

2nd month running Stg 1 aggressive. Switched this morning from Standard/stock throttle to Linear. Excited to feel the difference. Will give it a full month to compare avg mpg and my thoughts between the 2
