July 18 Chicagoland Meet...pre-planning thread

Hey all,

I know the idea of july 4 has been thrown around and I know at least for myself I couldnt make it that day, had some previous plans for the holiday. So I was thinking Saturday July 18, somewhere in the chicago suburbs (northwest perhaps?...near Seth and I and a direct shot on the highway for the rest of us).

I was thinking that seth's idea of a bbq was a good one, maybe we could do BBQ/rolling shots/garage shots (theres one in lincolnshire thats fantastic, and empty) We could also go around in Old Long Grove where a lot of the coolest e9x photos ive seen have been taken, some interesting spots there for sure.

If not BBQ we can always just order some food and do some diys etc, basic stuff.

How does this weekend sound for you all?

How about in Winnetka by the lake? (Lighthouse area) beautiful place right in the park with plenty of parking... nice and quiet and peaceful when i used to live there

There's also a very nice picnic area off of Higgins (and 290) in the Schaumburg area

so...july 18...NW suburbs, 290ish/schaumburg area, or Lakeshore area/winnetka etc

ill roll a dice unless someone has a favorite or real need for one particular location

I'm down for the 18th. There's a place in Highland Park, I think by Half Day Road or something... it's like a forest preserve area with a huge parking lot, and plenty of benches for BBQ's. We use to hold the Integra Type R meets there, back when I drove one.

Anyone down for perhaps a meet @ the beach???

we could pick one of the lakeshore areas like gilson or something and get there @ some pt in the morning when theres plenty of parking, hang @ the beach a bit and have a bbq or something of that sort, then go for a cruise/photoshooting/meet at someones house maybe do some diys!?

gilson will throw you out in about 5 min

try Wilson Skate Park down in the city (right near montrose harbor)... we've had some successful acura meets down there before. its pretty quite too
