Wait, no runflats? I must have glanced over that. Do they then have a real spare in the car?

I still think that this car as a Black Vert and 230 wheels will look sick! Can't stand the performance wheels.

Trying to figure out how they got that number.

2011 335is coupe: $50,520
2010 M3 coupe: $58,400

Difference is $7880 as far as I can see. Maybe they are trying to do some nomralization based on differences in standard equipment (are there any)? Or maybe edmunds knows something we don't about 2011 M3 pricing, and accidentally compared to that instead?

Edit: If you add in GGT, the difference is $9180 which is closer, but I don't think that's how they got their number either since they are still off.

Wow 50 Grand , that's 36k Euros, here we have 335i (no is) for around 60k Euros , 80k $ ..

I just don't like the facelift , the "old" one was so much better .

I apologise guys but I am still a little confused as to this new model. My understanding is that the 335is is for the North American Market only... is that correct. And for the the NA market you can only get the N54 in the 335is. Does that mean that Europe does not have an N54 option, meaning all their vehicles are equiped with the N55.

well thats .4 sec off the BMW estimated time of 5.4 sec 0-60 on the current E92. I think we all know they are pretty conservative when it comes to these numbers. Hell with a +15hp ECU tune and CAI my 0-60 went from the BMW claimed 6.8 sec to just under 6 sec. I'm pretty sure this car will do 0-60 in under 5... lets wait and see what the big mags like R&T or C&D can do with it when they get their hands on it, I'd expect to see something like a 4.8 or so.

EDIT: sorry looks like its 5.3 from BMW for the current E92... I think the sedan was 5.4.

22 HP is approximately equal to a 220 pound weight reduction. Rule of thumb: 10 pounds for 1 horsepower.

Therefore, the new 335is should have the straight-line performance of a 135i. Something like 0-60 in 4.8-4.9 seconds.

"There are a few caveats: These early-build cars do not have launch control, which will appear in production; overnight rain has left the surface a tad damp in spots, and there's a slight headwind (the level portion of the straight is not long enough to run in both directions). Nevertheless, I twice manage to flat-foot the accelerator with no "brake torquing" and get a nice hard launch with reasonable wheelspin, and manage to beat our quickest 335i coupe (a six-speed manual) handily: 4.8 seconds to 60 mph"

there it is (yeah I forgot about Motor Trend... they stopped sending me their mags a few years ago and now all I get are the other 2 so they just came to mind).

Hi Guys,

I'm in the process of ordering a 335is up here in Canada and the dealer forwarded me the BMW Product Bulletin for the 2011 3-Series and it goes over all the specifics of the 335is in detail. I've had this for like 5 days and I completely spaced on putting it up here; it would have cleared up a bunch of early speculation! My apologies.

I've attached it, take a look.

I don't see ANY Mineral White in the color specs.... Will you inquire to your dealer about this color?

Thanks!

Let the 335is is better than the M3 posts begin. The people at BMW are the masters and they know their stuff far better than I............but call me crazy, I see no point whatsoever to this car. According to what I read earlier the BASE price for a 335is coupe is going to be about $51k. That's about $9k more than the regular 335i coupe. For an extra 20 hp and an M aerodynamic kit??? Assuming that the price for the DCT tranny and the upgrade packages are on par with the M3, ( no reason they shouldn't be ) why would you buy that car when for an extra $4k you can get an M3 sedan? Or for an extra $8k you can get an M3 coupe?

Again this is just my humble opinion, and I may be totally wrong. But if someone could explain to me why they would buy this car when it is so close in MSRP to the M3 and you'll still be about 100hp short, not to mention the difference in suspension and the differential...................I'm all ears ?????

I discussed the colours with him, it's not available. There are only 6 colours available on the 335is: Titanium Silver, Le Mans Blue, Black Sapphire, Space Grey, Alpine White and Crimson Red.

crimson red is new (for performance variant pkgs) isn't it? You can't get Msport pkg with that color if I'm not mistaken.
