No smart ass...it is a tribute to my grandmother's death last year...

Just placed the order for my switch...and I don't even have my car yet! I highly doubt the part number has changed between 06 and 07. If it has, I'll just sell it on here -- shouldn't be a problem.

Am I obsessed? Just a little.

Found another great application for the rear fogs

In unilluminated areas and at night, switching the rear fogs on provides additional/auxiliary lighting to the factory backup lights. This is more beneficial when you have heavy tints on your back glass/windows.

Just another trivial use for these....aside from the proposed and obvious blinding and annoying of drivers behind you...

Seriously, I had a chance to use them in a sudden heavy downpour with very limited visibility. Awesome mod for the money

The entire reason I bought them was so I could see when backing out of dark driveways

finally got my on. didn't know what's the gray lock for, so almost kill the old switch. but still very easy, took me only 5 minutes total. the reason i have it is because i can blind the cops. hahaa. If i remember correctly, someone mention that the new fog light button is clicking, not soft touch as the old one. that does not apply to mine, everything is still the same feeling.

Wow, this is MUCH easier than it ever was on the E36 or E46. Congrats to BMW (and whomever found this out) for making the upgrade for attentive drivers much easier to accomplish!

Installed mine last night in a few minutes - Thanks for the great DIY! These do work well for backing up!

I have a question. With this installed, how willl the adaptive break lights work out? do we lose that function?

this was discussed earlier on...the adaptive brake lights are deactivated when the rear fogs are activated....when the rear fogs are off, the adaptive brakelights work as intended.

No, installing this DIY will not break your adaptive brake lights. However, when the fog light is on, the adaptive brake lights aren't available since both use the same lamp. With the fog light off, the brake light works as normal.

That depends...if you have HID then definitely 96. Even if you have US Hallogen, you can still use 96. But if you ordered 92 like I did, you are in for a pleasant surprise

Although the beam height control is not functional, IMO it still looks better than the cancel.
