was wonder will 225/40VR18 work on a 18x9.5"

it gonna look really stretched right?

Is that the stock rear sports rim? If it is, you are ok.

I got brizzarks same size and don't look bad. Rear looks slightly funny, but not even noticeable IMO.

yeah 225 tires will be really stretched on a 9.5 wheel.

Although it will be stretched, the main concern will be the lack of wheel protection. However, a 225/40/18 on a 9.5 will fit and drive fine.

I have yet to find a tire manufacturer that states that the discussed tire size will work with anything greater than a rim 9" in width. A reputable shop would not put a 225/40/18 on a 9.5" rim and stating that it "will fit and drive fine" is inaccurate.

Ok, let me rephrase my statement. In the event you had no other choice but a 225/40/18 tire for your 9.5" wheel, the 225/40/18 "will fit and drive fine" HOWEVER, we do not recommend this size.

I don't want to get into a discussion about the safety of stretched tires as there two camps regarding the legitimacy of stretched tires. All I wanted to mention was the 225s can work if need be.
