Do the ohlins ride more comfortable than the BC's? Even if the BC's are on the softest setting?

What made you switch to Ohlins rob? And why have you stuck with Ohlins?

BCs are cheap coilovers, Ohlins are nice coilovers...I am sure the Ohlins ride better and are just overall better

What exactly gets re-used from the rear shocks? Pretty much the entire upper mounting setup? Planning to do the install myself when they come and I wanted to know exactly what I'm doing prior. Thanks.

I wonder though if his rusted cause he's up north? And the roads are salted in winter? I am down south.

How to jack up the cars after lowering?

How do you guys deal with jacking up front end of your car after coilovers and slammed to the ground? Or even lightly lowered? I'm planning to do this but this something I need to know.

Jack from each side to put some pieces of 2x10 (or RaceRamps) under each front wheel until you have enough clearance.

I've seen a few people ask about use in winter and potential for rust with no response.
Can anyone comment please? Wondering the same thing living in Canada.

I want to say I've heard of people spraying a clear coat over the coilovers and that seems to give some extra protection. If I lived up north, I would just save some extra money and go with KW's.

I'd normally agree with you, but the price gap isn't a mere $200-300. I'm getting a great deal on BC (approx $1k), and with exchange and duties, KW v1 are closer to $1750... and if I'm looking for a soft ride (or would want to compare apples to apples, and require dampening adjustability), which means I should really be comparing to KW SC or v2, which are closer to the $2400-2500 range.

Pretty big discrepancy.

Also got a similar quote for a set of Broadway Static, which I think I would prefer over KW... but again, the huge price gap between those and BC is what concerns me. Do I really need to spend more than double or is spraying sufficient to prevent rust? Looking for lifespan of 4-5 years (or more ideally).

Thanks!!

Sorry to revive this old thread but I have a question in regards to this step here. WHERE is the washer now sitting? Is it just sitting right under the yellow bushing and then it gets bolted in like this or is the washer under the metal part before the strut goes in? By that I mean washer sitting on strut, slide strut through the hole and then put the yellow bushing on top and then nut.

Plz help

Do your research and you'll find that certain parts costing less are oftentimes almost or just as good as those costing much more. Notice I said 'certain'...can see people flaming all over that comment had I left 'certain' out.
As mentioned in previous comments, they corrode. Corrosion protection is one of the first places manufacturers try and shave some production cost off if they're looking to hit a certain price point. Followed by cheaper components. The sum of parts probably performs well, may even be made out of the same moulds and jigs, cad files as far more expensive kit. They'll just be using cheaper metals, fluids etc. So simply won't last as long. Bolts might be softer metal so more likely to round etc. etc. etc.

This is by no means a criticism; BC seem to be providing a great product at a great price. All I'm saying is you get what you pay for. BC have clearly spent their budget hitting performance, at the cost of lowering corrosion protection. As I live in rainy old England and my car is not garaged, I think I'll be going for something else.

Has anyone got a comparison of these against Bilstein B16s?

What was your reason for switching? I'm looking at the KW and the Ohlins at the moment.
