335d/330d owners

Just out of curiosity, have any of you cleaned or replaced your pressure converters?

Had these on my M57N engine and gave them a clean as they get very clogged up.

There should be 2, EGR and Turbo, good practice to keep their filters clean etc.

Thats all I wanted to say, I don't own a 335d btw.

The Turbo Pressure Converter controls the Variable Vanes on the Turbo and to do that it needs to suck in fresh air, if it cant get the air it needs then it can't do its job properly ! The little air filter is actually a membrane, it would become very easily clogged with tiny dirt particles over time.

There are 2 filters, one in the box on the outisde as you can see, and one inside the actual unit which you can't see because of the metal ring.

The newpressure converters are one solid unit so you can only access the one filter that's on the outside.

It's better to replace the unit and all the vacuum pipes but I guess you can just clean the 1 filter on the outside if money is tight.

It's in the realoem links I posted.

11747796634 x1
11658509323 x2

330d owners will have just 2 converters
320d 2 converters
335d 3 converters

Best to replace all 3.

Since Pierberg found out they have little niggles with these converters they've been getting facelifts now and then so they do differ in shape.

The 11658509323 will be best coming from BMW , Aneeka/Cotswold etc.
11747796634 is easily ECP, GSF etc.
