Pueblo track - 10 June
http://www.faasst.com/prodinfo.htm?s...12012134147-18
Guest Open Lapping at Pueblo Motorsports on June 10th. I'll be there, stop and say hi if you're gonna be there! Be one of the first to get on the fresh pavement down at Pueblo Motorsports Park. The event will run open lapping for all types of sports cars. If you're new to road racing, you will be in good hands with Faasst. All newbies need to register for that $199 online – includes full day track fee. Where: Pueblo Motorsports Park When: June 10th 7am-5pm What: Road course track time How: Register on www.faasst.com (Click on "guest open lapping" in the online store) Cost: $140 full day only until June 1st ($160 after June 1st) Requirements: All cars must be able to pass the car tech form here Basically make sure your car doesn't leak, a helmet (motorcyle ok), and wear pants. If this is your first time on a road course, the safety class may be a great idea to add to your registration. There will be a mandatory driver's meeting the morning of the event. I'm a newbie so I'm taking the orientation/safety class. Regards, Steve |

>Requirements: All cars must be able to pass the car tech form here
You mean tech is done at the track? >If this is your first time on a road course, the safety class may be a great idea Yikes. This isn't mandatory? I presume if it is a student's first day and you don't take the class, then it's mandatory an instructor go along? If not, this event just becomes an open lapping day. I really like the course at Pueblo, more than HPR even. I might just have to get a fix in, ~if~ it's not just a fancy schmancy open lapping day that someone is making money from. Alex

It is an open lapping day, with an orientation class, if you want that. I don't know if the class is mandatory, check with the Faasst folks.
It'll be my first day, if you see a blue Z4M, avoid it |

No worries, I just did a cut and paste from a friend's page. I'm hoping to learn a little, and get more comfortable with the car.
Hard to wind it out on a regular roads safely and without worrying about a ticket. Probably won't make tracking a regular thing, but do want to take some classes, learn how to drive properly. |

Yep, this is a lapping day. FAASST works with the city of Pueblo to offer them b/c (to be honest) the city sucks at getting them organized.
What is cool about FAASST is that if you get there early enough you can hop in the back of a truck and "walk" the track with them. I'm going to try and do this myself considering the new surface. So yah, I'll be there. As will John S (with his Boss 302), my neighbor Jim (Evo IX), and a NEW neighbor Garrett who just moved in from Houston last week with his Mini. (I love my neighborhood.) aleckzandr, if you decide to go, stop by and take a look at my new-to-me E36 race car!

I'm going. I'm going to look at hotels for Saturday night, too. Real late arrival, real early departure.

I have one vid up (HD available). I'll have two more later. I plan on annotating this one and a bit of the others as well.

Saw it - gorgeous! Did you have fun?
Quote:
It was a great day for lapping after the wind died down in the morning. The track is bumpy in places it didn't used to be (exiting T3, exiting T5/entering T6A) and T10 is... a hot mess. Overall, it's faster than it used to be though. If anyone's looking for more track time down there, NASA will be there July 7-8. You can sign up for HPDE 1-4 (HPDE 1 guarantees you an instructor). Come on down!

^ I was slower this time around. I think I only did one lap at 9/10ths and I did a 1:49.5. Most of day I drove at 8/10ths, you will see in the video I occasional shift into 4th between T4 and T5 (then back down to 3rd in T5) to keep my temps low. I heat soaked my car and tried to shift way before red line. At the end of the day I regularly "cruised" the long straight in 5th gear @ 100mph. I loved the pavement though, I did one 50 minute session @8/10ths in the afternoon.

Wow, looks nice. I haven't been on a road course since Second Creek closed. Looks relatively easy on brakes. I'm not used to driving that fast, though...SCR was a lot tighter.

Nice vids Alex, glad you didn't get tangled up with that spinner. He must have gotten a bit ahead of himself

Thanks. As promised here are two more. and I'll try to annotate the first one later today/tonight. Warning: They are mostly boring. First "morning" vid has a blown heel & toe shift (you'll hear the 'gas' on T7 @5:35) and a blown braking point (@ 5:59 - must have been thinking about food) on T9 all on the same lap.

You should! I'll be down there this weekend in my E36 M3 competing in Time Trials (TTB) with NASA.
