Bridgestone Turanza thoughts?

So right now, my car came with these tires in 225/40/R17. All I can say is the traction with these tires is terrible. If I give it a little gas from a stop in DS, but not enough where there should be wheelspin, I can hear them screech and spin. When its wet and raining, in D mode, they seem to slip pretty often pulling out from stop signs. The strange thing is, the fronts are wearing down faster than the rears and I have RWD, although I still do have plenty of tread left. They came with the car from the dealer. Im running factor PSI's which I think is 38 PSI rear and either 32 or 34 PSI front. What are your guys experiences with these tires? How long did they last you?

Yeah, not great at all.

I'm running Blizzak LM-25 right now (winter tires) and traction is _much_ better (and we are only around 44F / 7C around here).

POS, get rid of them asap and install real rubber. I changed them midlife, I couldn't stand these DANGEROUS tires anymore.

Thank god for DSC/DTC otherwise I would be sliding all over the place. I only have about 6k miles on them and I think they last 30-35k if I recall right. DSC off, a freshly paved road, and some rain would be a fun combo with these tires if you would even call them tires. What should I get? I would like Pilot Super Sports, but they only come in 225/45 and I don't want a 45 sidewall height. I was thinking about changing my rims eventually when I get enough money. What other tires are good?

I used Michelin A/S, PS2, PSS and I have been happy with all of them.

If you think of changing your wheels, and can put your hands on a good rebate, its maybe time to try the PS2, they are very good but really don't last long anyway, so when you want to get your wheels you will be able to swap the full package.

FYI, there is not a 225/40R17. It would be either 225/45R17 or 255/40R17.

If you looking for All Seasons tires which are good in Wet/Snow also then go with these.

1) Continental Extreme DWS (very good in Rain & Snow a bit noisy)
2) Pirelli P Zero Nero A/S ( good in Rain & snow but much Quieter)
3) Michelin Pilot A/S ( good all around tire a little Noisy)

The (2nd generation) 16" Turanza EL42 RFTs on my E91 wagon are adequate for dry road ride and traction and OK in light snow, but sub-par on wet pavement. As I drive a stick and rarely use full throttle in 1st gear, I have no complaints on dry pavement. But while they will last about 40 to 50k miles with periodic rotation, I'll probably replace them a bit sooner - most likely with the 3rd generation Potenza 960AS RFTs.
