Because they are idiots with no skill and will use any excuse to hide their own incompetance at working on the cars they allegedly specialise in

I've experienced problems with Berry Heathrow BMW too, which is a shame as I work just down the road. I took my car there once, they quoted on the work before hand and told me it wouldn't be any more expensive then around £900, two days later the car was ready and they asked me to pay almost £1400.
I refused to pay, and the women I spoke to was of the opinion that it was "only a little bit more then quoted" as the labour took slightly longer then they had expected. In the end I spoke to the manager and ended up paying about £975. Will never use them again. Have been using Sytner High Wycombe for many years, never had an issue and would recommend them.
