New e90 Owner

Afternoon all,

Thought I'd say hello. Long time lurker and have owned a couple of BMWs.

previously had: E30 323i, E46 M3, E88 120i and an E82 135i.

I've just paid for an E90 325d which I'll be picking up this weekend. Went for a test drive weekend just gone and fell in love with the N57 lump.

I'll be looking to get a remap on it (anywhere/one good near SW London?) and generally tidy the car up a little (I'm OCD with detailing)...

Driving it from Southampton to Cambridge this weekend, so will really be able to stretch its legs.

Remap hit up Jason at BW Chiptune. He does it on dyno so is a proper job - although you will pay for it.

They are indeed genuine BMWP 269s which some numpty had refurbished all silver (crap job).

As I type, they are in the workshop being sprayed and diamond cut.

Congrats on the purchase.

Give him a call - ive not used him for remaps as im running JB4, but it will be a custom map that he develops specifically for you, nothing off the shelf. He'l dyno it and road test it and has a very good reputation.

Very nice mate and I'm tempted seeing those 269's on your E90.

A remap will take it to as near to 300bhp as makes no difference, it will feel like a totally different beast. I know Simon at Emaps is very good and his reputation on these forums is almost second to none. He usually drives out to you. Not sure what he would charge to drive out to London.

Cars now getting dropped off tomorrow since the wheels took longer than expected.
They also replaced the glow plug module, is this a common fault?

So, I had the car delivered yesterday. Very happy with it although it's thrown up 3 bloody errors on it's first outing (all under warranty).

Transmission Faulty - This only came up once and then disappeared and hasn't come back since.
ABS Driving Stability - Hoping just a sensor issue
Flat Tyre Monitor - Most likely related to above sensor error

Anyway, I purchased a Carly Gen II module last night so I'll be able to read and get exact codes this weekend.

Few pics from yesterday and after swapping out the chrome grills to BMWP gloss black:

I had the same 2 errors about driving stability and tyre pressure when I bought mine. Never got to the bottom of it, but they went away eventually!

Also have the glow plug error on one, but it doesn't affect the car as far as I can see, so not done anything with it (too many other issues at the moment)
