Battery cable connector recall thread

I know their a thread that notify us all about the battery cable connector recall, but im curious if anyone has gotten a letter form BMW yet? My car fits in the description for a recall, but have not gotten a letter yet. Bmw said they would send it out March and now is. I just wanna get the cable fixed and over with.

I talked with my SA and he said late March they might get approval to start calling in customers.

Im not worried about it. Its a recall due to the possibility of a problem. While some people have experienced this issue, its still a high probability you will be ok for the next month or two.

Nothing either. I called BMWNA & they said they are in the process of looking up the VIN #, where it makes & so on & will send out letter if your is part of it.

Got mine done on monday. Went in for some service and they told be they will replace it.

Anyone know whats actually replaced and where?

i didn't get a "letter" but i did get a card, says to call and make an appointment to perform the recall. with a "reference code" to the recall.

edit: pretty sure you can just call your service advisor and ask him if they can get you in for it, he'll be able to check the bulletins

It's going to be different for each area. Consumer Reports said that BMW is short on the parts needed to fix the recall; expect mid to late March to even get the letter and for BMW to have parts in the dealership for repair.

my appointment is for wednesday

they said i could be in and out the same day if i bring it in at 6:30AM, so it's obviously not something they need to take the interior out to do

my car is getting this done along with a new battery right now by my dealer. did not get a letter as i took the car in for a "battery discharge" message on the nav screen.

I'm affected. Had an issue that cost me $2200. My service guy called and told me that ill be getting it all back. Took the car up there today for basic paperwork.

Btw, what happened was a complete power outage. I couldn't even lock the doors. They replaced the junction box. Happened again two weeks later. Battery cable was melted to the frame. I was pretty ticked off as it happened just after the warranty expired. But I'm feeling a lil better now that I'm getting it all back. Only if the wifey didn't already know it...sigh

I did not receive any correspondence in the mail either. But, when I went in to pickup my car after a walnut blasting, the SA mentioned that my car had this recall and that I could setup an appointment to get it fixed.

I didn't receive a letter or anything, either. However, I called my dealer and asked about the recall and they set up an appointment.
