Why would you downsize the bolt pattern size on the hub along with having to find brake rotors that would be the same specs and bolt pattern. To me it would just seem like a mess to do instead of redrilling the wheels or running adapters.

I would rather do it the correct way then redrill the wheels or run adapters. Adapters eat up offset and redrilling the wheels is hideous. It typically is pretty easy to redrill hubs (and rotors) - provided there is clearance...
