I'm at Cobb right now and we are finishing up the fmic and exhaust. Soon, guys. . The exhaust might take a little adjusting to get it to sit right (at the moment it is very low) but the guys at Cobb are helping.

Blew the charge pipe -> FMIC coupling off on the way home. :\

Will pull the pan off tomorrow and hook it back up. I guess they never got that clamp on properly.

Exhaust is good; its not that loud and has a mellow tone but its cool sounding. Not raspy or buzzy at all.

Tomorrow after I get the boost leak fixed (getting 30FF) will see what I can do on videos...

awesome work. So Tiago, when the xi downpipes are released, will you offer a package discount? Maybe a certain percentage off for joint purchase?

Also ETA on the xi downpipes?

How much louder is it then the other videos with oem downpipes?

Were you getting any drone cruising on the freeway?

Its not too much louder than stock. It has a deep mellow tone but does make a bit more noise than stock. Its a good noise. I'll get videos when I get the boost leak fixed.

I don't know if it "drones" because I have a MT, I don't lug the car at 1800rpm. I'd imagine it makes a bit more noise at that rpm than the stock one.

How about if you're cruising 40mph down a boulevard? That's usually around that RPM (I have an MT too).

I am afraid of drone big time. Really hope this one doesn't do it!

If you're in 5th or 6th going 40mph, any exhaust will drone

Any updates on that louder exhaust with a resonator?

There's a fix for that, and only requires a short length of capped off pipe.

...it's called a Helmholtz pipe.

Here:
http://www.moderncamaro.com/forum/v8...-solution.html

Here: (where I learned about it with my old G8)
http://forum.grrrr8.net/showthread.php?t=10801&page=9

The theory:
http://www.phys.unsw.edu.au/jw/Helmholtz.html

Quote:
There's a formula for figuring out the particular length required for a particular drone frequency. Simply put, it's:

1100 feet per second (the speed of sound)
divided by the drone frequency.
Divide this result by 4 to give a quarter wavelength.
Multiply the quarter wavelength number by 12 to give the required chamber length.

These chambers are pipes cut and welded into the tailpipes and capped off on the other end, creating a closed "echo chamber" to reflect back the drone frequency 180 degrees out-of-phase, thus cancelling it out.

It works. Try it and enjoy your exhaust.
No charge for this info... unless you want to use me as a guinea pig for the new design, then I'll take a set and do lots of testing

I'm well aware of this design, we've used it before and to be perfectly honest I don't think this exhaust produces enough drone to warrant it.

Its not very noisy, particularly with the windows up. If you want it to be really quiet, keep the stock exhaust. If you're going to be annoyed by the slightest bit of noise, aftermarket exhausts might not be for you...

Am I the only one that actually notice that our exhaust is quite boomy after golf tee mod?

Tiago: Can you pm me price of your exhaust? I have yet to install your DP, maybe I can wait until the exhaust but yeah I don't mind loud but not droney.

Just got back from the last test drive, and its holding 16psi on map 1 with everything buttoned up. No weird rough idle and misfires, no IC pipes blown off...

The o2 sensors were reversed. And the IC pipes were not tightly clamped. Both of those are fixed.

Car runs great now.

I'm going to pick out a quick video clip of my testing runs, I have one of map 0 when it didn't choke at all.

Will do some from outside the car tomorrow. Wife is heading to bed, and I know that's my cue.

Thanks for taking the time to post the video!

We will be offering a package deal with the downpipes and exhaust and the DPs will be available for sale mid-December.
