ENET cable question for coding 2011

I have just ordered an ENET cable from one-stop and in the product description, it advertised compatibility with F and late model E series cars. Will this cable code my 2011 E90?

You didn't have to buy ENET cable. OBD USB is enough for your car.

I'm not sure, I don't have a knowledge with cables for F-series.
If the seller told you that it will work, so it should work.

I just recently purchased a 2011 E90... ready to buy a cable and was wondering if it ended up working for you. Like you mentioned in the initial post, One-Stop states

"Compatible with:
BMW cars that have Ethernet available on the OBD2 connector (To our knowledge - all F Series and late E Series with the new navigation/entertainment system)"

My E90 came with the HD navigation system... is this what they are referring to?

Yeah it's called a MOST connection and gives access to certain modules including nav stuff.

For f series there is the e-sys software.

Of course, but only to program certain modules. I don't believe you can't use it to do whole car...

Although it's just a guess, I haven't actually tried.

Do you know which modules can be program in E9x with enet?

I don't, I've never used ENET cable. However I just realised maybe you can use this. ICOM Emulator has an option to configure ENET cable. So maybe it will work.

By "Late E Series", they are referring to Exx cars with CIC Navigation System. On these cars, the CIC can be accessed directly with ENET Interface via the OBD Port. But that is all that can be done with them. There is no Ethernet ZGW Gateway connection via OBD Port as there is on Fxx cars, so Exx can not be coded with ENET.

Thanks for the info... with all the searching, I really couldn't find a straight answer!

SO, I am still learning...
1. Does this mean I can program the CIC module from the OBD Port using the ENET cable and NCS Expert? Or, will I need to use the ESYS program to do this.
2. The K+DCAN cable is used to access and code all other modules. Can it still access the CIC module through OBD?

No. You will use K+DCAN and NCS Expert to code any whatever modules you want, including CIC.

Direct access to the CIC is not for coding purposes.

For coding an Exx chassis, you have zero need for E-Sys nor ENET Interface cable.

Hmm. Encountering this question myself now. My enet cable won't query CIC for swid reading. I know it's not needed for coding.

ENET with SWID Reader only works for Fxx car. DCAN with SWID Reader works only for Exx car, but it seems to only work with older Exx cars. Most people with Exx end up having to use ICOM with SWID Reader.
