So fuse #57 was blown, and I replaced with a 15A and a 20A fuse, and it MADE NO DIFFERENCE! I cannot open the locks or the fuel door, either with the key fob or with the door lock button in the car. Aaaargh! I check the other fuses associated with the door locks with the fuse tester (#2, #19, #53, #56, #57) and the fuel fuse, and all of them are good. WTF?! If the fuel door solenoid blew, is it tripping the other items in the circuit?

i blown fuse # 57 too and replaced it. then i performed a function test by activating the door locks 10 times in succession via the central locking switch. and now it's working!!!

Same thing just happened to me. I can only unlock the front door with my key or by pulling the hatch from inside. I was content with waiting to get the issue fixed by the dealer until I went to get gas and realized my gas door will not open since the doors will not unlock. Does anyone know how much a problem like this will cost? someone said a fuse 57? Thank you
Jon

Hi all,

I am in almost same situation. Need your help BMW guru's out here. The central locking failed to open any door. Had to use the key to access the driver seat. Read in the forums fuses need to be replaced. Got some spare mini blade fuses and replaced 56 and 57 with 20 amps. Sadly it hasn't changed anything. I am getting very agitated with the issue. Please help. Thanks.

Electronics? They're frickin' power door locks, not some high tech piece. They should be able to get power door locks right, without making it impossible to unlock the car. It's a safety hazard that demands a permanent fix. Why hasn't this been recalled?
