No as long as you don't use battery back up
when installing it. The register your battery thing
is for the long term health of the battery if you run
without re registering for a little while it won't hurt.
If you don't register it there is some specutlation that the
total life of the battery won't be optimized that's all.
If you don't have ibs there is no way to register it all we know
here is that all e9x have it here in the US.

If you were to use a different type of battery or a different
capacity then you might have a considerably shortened battery life.
