no worries just wanted to keep this thread to all of us crossfit junkies who enjoy it. Its pretty crazy some of the weight the pros are putting up with various olympic lifts, def not something I will ever get to but I enjoy it nonetheless

Ok, so the results are in. I was in a 2 month weight loss competition with a bunch of coworkers that ended on Tuesday. Thanks to CrossFit and clean eating (meats and veggies), I managed to drop 28.2 lbs (12.5% of my body weight) and won the competition by over 2%.

It REALLY works but you have to find a box where you feel comfortable. Mine is very low key with most classes containing 4-6 people who are all really friendly (no meat heads) so the trainers can keep a close eye on everyone's form. Some of my friends, mostly NYC people, have a hard time because there are 15-20 people in each class and the trainers are too busy to keep a close eye on your form.

Two BIG thumbs up from me!

Plunging deep into the annals of the off topic boards because of sheer boredom after double inguinal hernia surgery. I have been a member of Crossfit Aspire here in Southern New Jersey for about 2.5 years now. With all of the bad publicity that our "sport" gets, people instinctively ask if I was injured at Crossfit. The answer is no, It happened at work. As an automotive tech I put my body into way more unusual situations to get the job done, than I do at Crossfit. In a controlled environment its easy to do movements correctly. I can't wait to get back to my box. Back to work and able to workout the 13th of April.

no. crossfit isn't done in a gym its done in a box. So each crossfit location is also known as a box. There is a reason they call it a box but Im not sure what or why. Crossfit lingo

The idea behind it stated when Crossfit was first created. People wanted to setup their own crossfit gyms and the only requirement to do it was a small hole in the wall like a warehouse, or a garage, or just a storefront...nothing special. Pretty much just a "box" to put your little bit of equipment in. Everything has it's lingo...crossfit is no different I suppose.

IMHO cross fit is one of the greatest I ever tried, I've started cross fit 2 years ago(pull up with band, 3-4 push up no double under rope, etc) what I want to mention is that after 3 month I've improved my pull up over 25 clean in a row, 40 push up in a row and over 60 double under rope in a row 47 sit up in a minute and many other) I do not know how much is for you, but for a 38 yrs old guy who never been to a gym in his life means a lot. Then by my fault after 6 moths I made a wrong movement and I had a very bad back injuries, and I've had a break of 7 months. I started again for 5 month with a little diet and 4-5 days of cross fit and in the Christmas eve I've got a very severe pneumonia with over 12 days in hospital, thanks to God I've past all that bad health situation and I am alive and in a good health now, I stopped doing cross fit and I missed a lot the WOD... I hope to start again in couple of months. I've attached a photo with me before and after 4 month of cross fit to see the difference...

Yes I love Cross fit I am on my 8 year at this point

Have done Crossfit endurance, gymnastics, and OLY lifts (more strength)

I hate all the bandwagon trainers and people (growing quickly) Now all the people getting hurt because of the jumping on crossfit nuts Tons of stories good and bad Know a girl who got level 1 in 6 months and can't do a muscle up but now is teaching people to do muscles ups and other skilled lifts

Of course, the people getting hurt is not because of Crossfits methods just bad coaching and programming

At end of the day, Great way to get fit and better your life. So I welcome all new people
