Front License Plate Question

Hey e'erybody.....
I had a quick question for WA state (King County area) drivers....how often, if at all do you get pulled over for not having a front license plate? I am not from here and am debating if I should put the thing on or not........

Haven't had one on my cars since I started driving in 2009. Can't speak for others as I commute from Graham to Tacoma daily and then sometimes further. Usually in downtown areas I just throw it on the dash if I'm parking on the street.

20k miles on the 335 and not pulled over yet. Had < 40k on the M3 and got pulled over 3 times, only once just because of the missing plate. No tickets tho

I hate responding because I don't want to jinx myself, but I've lived here for almost 2 years now and I have yet to be pulled over. *knocks on wood*. However when I was driving a buddy's car to the airport, a cop walked up to my car as I'm trying to pull into the Alaska Airlines Arrivals section, and gives me a verbal warning for it. smh.

I got pulled over twice. One in Skagit County where my work is and the other in Snohomish where I live in the last 2 years. Both times were WSP stopping me but they just gave me warnings.

I was pulled over 14 times for no front plate in my jetta (this was 10 years ago, no tickets, all warnings).
I was pulled twice in my Audi, one ticket (this was now 3 years ago)
Haven't been pulled over yet in either my E30 or my 335 for the 6 months I had it.

It all just depends on luck, time of day, whether or not the cop wants to pull you over, etc.

My coworker said she saw a Red M3 leaving Swedish Edmonds the other week. I'm assuming this was probably you since you live in Snohomish County? When I tried to identify it was really an M3, she said she didn't know. Figured.

Been pulled over for a no front plate once in the last 10 yrs, got a ticket.

A buddy of mine had a couple of beers and got pulled over by Seattle PD for no front plate, and got himself a DUI. And no he was not wasted, blew a .081 but had he had his front plate on he would not have gotten pulled over.

Also, in Seattle of you ever get ticketed for parking and you don't have a front plate, automatically you will get a no front plate ticket too.

I have front plates, custom mounted, on all my vehicles.

I've never been puller over for no front plates but did get a ticked while I was legally parked at a meter spot Dowtown.

If it really concerns you I would just put the front plate back on.

If you ever drive after having a beer or two, whether you're buzzed or feel completely sober, I would put your front plate on. Having no front place automatically gives law enforcement a reason to pull you over, and the one time they decide to pull you over could be the one time you're driving home from work after going to happy hour with a few coworkers. .08 is the legal limit, but its also up to the cops discretion. You could blow .04 and still get a DUI, so I personally wouldn't risk it if I drank and drove (even occasionally and/or in moderation). Just my personal opinion

Will putting it on the dash help to avoid the ticket while being parked?

Haven't got one in countless times I parked almost daily in downtown Tacoma, Kirkland, Bellevue, or Seattle but that's just me. My technique is to put the plate on the side which they check. Most officers are cool and will admire the car and respect why you haven't put a plate on the front because it ruins the look. But you also have haters so depends on them and your luck

its a total crap shoot. Never been pulled over with my X5 (knock on wood) but was pulled over multiple times with my Jetta VR6. I guess it all depends on the type of car you're driving..

I've never gotten pulled over for not having a front plate.

But once while picking up a friend at the airport a cop mentioned he could write me a ticket for not having a front place but he said he'd excuse it since I had an LEM license plate. Lol apparently cops actually pay attention to those plates

What's with these airport cops trying to call people out on their license plates? They most not have much to do over there...I swear if I wasn't in someone elses car he would have wrote me one.
