Shocking result after i used VIN Decoder(325i owners please help)
Hi guys,
I got to know about this amazing VIN decoder site that gives you almost all the info about our bmws, when i ran my 2009 325i vin number i got a shocking info bellow, it showed in engine section-"Low compression engine"(code S858A) I have attached the pic of my vin results & also the url for the vin decoder site, Do your'll guys get the same result too? or has bmw actually detuned the cars in india? Run your vins & let me know, here is the link, you have to put your last 7 digits of your vin & do a simple math to prove your not a bot. http://www.rubmw.ru/vincode/eng/ Last edited by insane79; 06-22-2012 at 03:03 AM.. |

That's the same as the Aus-spec engine.
Btw, Aus also has low quality fuel.

Yes its not present in the australian 325i options, guess bmw have detuned the 325i in india for 91 octane fuel as 97 octane is very rare over here.. |

I would have thought it was the 130kw US engine, not the 160kw AU/EU engine?
In the "Vehicle Information" section at the top, what 'type' and 'power' figures does it give you? Last edited by Ethanderall; 06-23-2012 at 12:32 AM.. |

Its saying my 335i has 225bhp
That better be a typo because everything else seems to be correct. It also says my other 330ci is 170bhp....... not paying attention any more! Last edited by TripleBlack; 06-23-2012 at 05:11 AM.. |

The mazda skyactiv engines have 14.1:1 compression ratio overseas but Australia gets the detuned one with 13:1 I think? Something like that, but they cite our poor quality fuel as the reason why we are down on power.
