Indy used Rotrax LSX 75W90 in MT

Just had all fluids changed by a reputable Indy in NJ.

He used Rotra LSX 75w90 for the Manual Transmission. It's 100% synthetic.
Apparently, a lot of Ferraris and Alfas use this fluid.

Now, it's a little snarky and NOT smooth shifting. When cold, the 1-2 shift seems to very slightly snap back instead of easing into gear like before. 2-3 is a little crunchy.

When warm it seems better, but still not like before.

Is this the wrong fluid?
If so, what is the correct fluid?

Thanks.

It appears to be a high performance manual transmission oil (mentioned on a lot of Ferrari boards). BMW used to use a similar product (a couple decades ago), but then switched to a lube very similar to a D4 ATF in response to complaints that their transmissions didn't shift smoothly when cold. It's somewhat lower in viscosity and provides smoother shifting when cold at some expense in its protective qualities.

I've used Redline MTL (Mike Miller's recommendation) in BMW transmissions with good results, but it too will require deliberate shifts until warm. If you want to return to the shifting feel you had in the past, you might try Royal Purple Synchromax.

Thanks, hopefully it doesn't damage anything.

though shifting effort is a pain and it takes a long time to warm up to something acceptable, I may just tolerate it for a bit.
