What floats your boat musicaly

Leading on from another thread that we had recently over music genre's,

What are you listening right now & what album/CD or song really

'floats your boat' ??

For the moment I can't stop playing the CD 'Only By The Night' by Kings of Leon.

Thumbs up

My iPod is full of a huge variety of stuff from dance to hip-hop to rock and classical music. Just depends what mood I'm in I guess. The album I'm listening to currently is Alchemy by Dire Straits! Can't beat a bit of Private Investigations!

Having said all that, the group that takes up the most room on my iPod is Pink Floyd. A car journey never usually goes by without something of theirs being played.

Loads and loads of stuff, from classical and baroque, to goth, synth bands, indie...but always rock music.

Learning some new songs for the band at the moment - 2 big birthday gigs coming up in May, so quite focused on specific songs; lRebel Yell by Billy Idol, Older by Bon Jovi and Poison by Alice Cooper, 20th Century Boy by T Rex and Ruby by kaiser Chiefs

Music I've played a lot recently

Kings of Leon - Only By The Night
Seasick Steve - Dog House Music
Dio -Best Of
Killers - All albums. Going to see them at the MEN on 10th March!
AC/DC - Black Ice. Tickets booked for 21st April!!!
MGMT- Oracular Spectacular. love the synth hooks on this.
Stereophonics - Decade in the Sun
Feeder - Best of Feeder
Black Stone Cherry - Fokelore & Superstition.
The Raconteurs - Consolers of the Lonely
Lou Reed - Transformer

A pretty eclectic mix really!

I've got White Lies recent album in my car, haven't listened to much else recently.

Its a great album for anyone that like Indie type stuff - very 80's in style but great IMO

I think we all know my avid taste for foul-mouthed rappers and hip hop.

Like others, I have a very wide selection of music on my iPod...

King of Leon, Lemon Jelly, Richard Ashcroft, Bloc Party, P!nk, Britney, Foo Fighters, Just Jack, Gnarls Barkley, George Benson, Lily Allen, Michael Buble....

I use LAST.FM to "scrobble" the music i've listened to on my iPhone and iPod, this then allows friends to play a radio station based upon my listened too music... it's really cool when you just want to listen to random music... you can select a friends personal station and listen to what they're currently into.

Not sure if this is the right link to use, but...

I listen to every type of music imaginable but don't own all that many CDs as after a week or so I get bored! So I tend to listen to the radio - classic fm, certain radio one dance / rnb shows, radio deejay (Italian radio station), club asia (Asian radio station that is based in London), a couple of south american radio stations and ram fm for local news / traffic etc.

Just bought this album and it's a fantastic driving soundtrack... some very well done remixes...

Beyond the Wizards Sleeve Re-Animations, Vol. 1

The duo behind BTWS have plenty of dancefloor nous. Erol Alkan is the enduringly hip DJ, responsible for the 2002 Kylie/"Blue Monday" mash-up, while Richard Norris, once a member of Balearic crowd-pleasers the Grid, is Paul Oakenfold's biographer. But though this collection of remixes kicks off at a smart pace - Franz Ferdinand's "Ulysses" is cleverly reimagined as hollow-eyed techno - it loses momentum during the mid-section, with spirit-sapping chill-out takes on Badly Drawn Boy and Goldfrapp, and never quite recovers its zip.
