Misfire in cylinder 3 with Cobb AP
Hey guys. I am having some issues with my car? So here's the stroy. I have been having misfire codes with my Cobb AP on the latest 93 oct map. I have been to the dealer with the car. I have had the fuel pump changed and all coils. Still keeps misfiring. The car only misfires at WOT. When I uninstall the COBB and run stock... no misfire. My car has been in the shop more than on the street and I have only had the car since march of this year. It's starting to get to me. Anyway sorry for the rant lol. Just wondering what to do next so looking for some advice. By the way my car is an 2007 335i 6MT with 26,000 miles on it. Thanks for your help.

I have all the newest maps on the AP. No more misfire but the car just feels better stock. I honestly had enough with the car so I'm selling the car and the AP and moving on. Thanks for everyone's help. I really like this forum.

I hear ya. I felt the exact same way with all the piggyback options. I was looking to switch to a m3 until cobb came along. Its the only reason I still have a straight six over a v8.

I hear you. Put the car back to stock for now until I sell the car.

What I have noticed with Cobb, it is a great product first of all, but for a stock car in hot weather (Anything above 65 fahrenheit) with just the AP on it, run the 91 map. The 93 octane map is too aggressive. I had misfires with 93 octane map on a car with 15,000 miles, switched to 91 octane map without changing anything and the car runs beautifully, the 93 octane map is probably ok on a car with ic,dp but on a stock car it is just too damn aggressive. I may not know much about different tunes, but this is from what I have observed, tune on car for about 5,000 miles.

Sorry for double post. I really like the 335i but I don't feel like dealing with a modified car. So I plan to go m3 and just leave it stock. I still love 335i's though. Great cars with great potential.
