Exclamation House wall collapse due to snowfall - my arse!

Typical DailyFail reporting.....

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england...shire-21212792

There is no way a gable wall could or should collapse like that due to snowfall & accumulation on the roof.

Looking at Google Streetview we now see the reason for the catastrophic failure!

There should be some big-ass steels supporting a cantilever of that magnitude.

LOL good find .. read that this morning on BBC news.

Did look a little strange considering that , well , there aint that much snow on the roof and the roof is still intact.

Clearly nobody worked out the possible loadings :-)

I'm surprised that building control allowed it... But then I read it was a council owned property...

My folks next door neighbour has a similar contraption attached to the side of their house. We call it the west wing and often watch it flap in the wind. It didn't need planning permission.

Nothing to do with snow on the main roof then, more like the snow on a very poorly constructed car port.

Cash,Grab & Dash were the contractors, no doubt.
